AACE Upward Bound
Eligibility Criteria
Students who are interest in joining the AACE Upward Bound program must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be in the 9th or 10th grade
- Enrolled in one of the following high schools:
- Galileo Acadmy of Science and Technology
- International Studies Academy
- George Washington High School
- Balboa High School
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be a first genreation college bound student (a student whose parents did not complete a BA or BS in the U.S.) and/or the student's family income meets the low income requirement set by the US Department of Education.
Every year, prospective students are recruited from the four participating high schools. Interested students are given a
Pre-Screeing Questionnaire (PSQ) to determine program elibigility. AACE Upward Bound staff review PSQ's. Qualified students will then be given an application packet, and scheduled for an interview.
